Many familiar and famous faces help tell the stories of music in New Orleans helped shaped the music industry today.

Some familiar faces include celebrity musicians G-Eazy, Ledisi and Snoop Dogg! Seeing these award-winning artist that many of know so well, and how the music and environment of New Orleans molded and inspired them to the success and awesomeness they are now was great to see. Another aspect I love about this film is how many stories are told in one documentary. Not only are we told about modern celebrities, we are told about past ones, and even historical ones. The educational aspect of this film is phenomenal. The amount of information and cool facts that share the history of how the music we all know and love come to pass is interesting to say the very least. With music being the main focus of this film, the soundtrack is amazing. As viewers we get to see the behind the scenes of how music is recorded and the creative process it takes.

Take Me to the River New Orleans teaches us to never forget where we come from. If we tap into our roots we can discover our future. This film promotes positive social behavior and is very informative and educational.

I give Take Me to the River New Orleans 5 out of 5 stars and I recommend it to ages 6-18, plus adults. Take Me to the River New Orleans is out in select theaters now, don’t miss it!
